This shows the difference between "standard quality management", "certification" and our rQM > realised Quality Management in medical treatment and patient safety < , already offered in many hospitals around the globe and listed here on our GHG. Indonesia - Surakarta Hospital/Java
Background and founding history The Surakarta Islamic Hospital (Rumah Sakit Islam Surakarta) is a non-government institution, owned by the YARSIS (Yayasan Rumah Sakit Islam Surakarta, Surakarta Islamic Hospital Foundation). The YARSIS was established in 1970 as a realization of the keen desire of a group of Muslims in Surakarta to have a hospital in the sense of the Islamic religious spirit.
The SIH started operations on 30 July 1983, in line with the increasing economic standards of the society, supporting the growing awareness of the need for adequate medical care. In the early years of the SIH, there was a social tendency of preference for lower class hospital care, but it has turned to preference for higher quality hospital care. Based on this fact the Governing Board of the foundation together with the management of the SIH and the entire staff of the hospital have undertaken and still continue efforts for the development of physical and technological facilities. In 1997 the policlinic was built. After completion of the western wing building in 2001, it was followed by the maternity building and 3rd class care in 2004. In 2005 renovation of all older buildings was finished. The grand launching of the renovated main building was on July 30, 2008, the 25 years anniversary of SIH.
SIH Today Today, SIH is a private hospital located in Sukoharjo, Central Java on an area about 11723 square meters. 228 beds are available and 354 persons including 97 physicians and specialists are working at SIH to provide high quality care. A 24 hour emergency service by physicians is available.
SIH has a policlinic, specialists and subspecialists to offer best medical treatment in different medical facilities: - General Surgery - Specialized Surgery i.e. Traumatology, Abdominal Surgery, Thoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Urology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics - Anaesthesiology, Anaesthetic recovery room - Septic and aseptic operation theatre |
- Department for internal medicine with ECG and haemodialysis - Pneumology - Cardiology - Dentistry - Dermatology - ENT - Nephrology - Neurology - Ophthalmology - Orthopaedics - Paediatrics - Psychiatry
At the intensive care unit and the intensive cardiac care unit critically ill patients can be treated.
For medical support there are a pharmacy, a laboratory with full spectrum of standard analyses and serological tests, a department for radiology with X-ray, ultrasonic equipment and CT scan, dietetics and nutrition services, physiotherapy and haemodialysis.
As an active member of several networks SIH cooperates with thirty insurance companies, foundations and local private sector groups. After SIH has been the first private hospital accredited with 5 services in 1997, in 2002 it attained full accreditation with 12 services.
