Today, at 11:03 UTC (06.03 am local time) an aftershock with magnitude 5.9 hit the area with epicenter 60km WSW of Port-au-Prince.
13.01.2010 Haiti - Mayor Earthquake (Update)
A major earthquake (magnitude 7.0) hit Port Au Prince, Haiti yesterday at 04:53 pm local time. Many buildings have collapsed in the capital, causing tens of thousands of casualties, and deaths. The earthquake hit along the Enriquillo-Plantain Garden fault zone (EPGFZ) which extends from Jamaica through the southern peninsula of Haiti to the Dominican Republic.
